The International Film Festival Rotterdam is one of the biggest cultural events in The Netherlands, and thanks to its large, cinephile audience, one of the best attended film events in the world. The 41st edition takes place from 25 January - 5 February 2012. Twelve days of worldwide independent, innovative and experimental cinema and visual arts. The International Film Festival Rotterdam is devoted to offering a platform to and actively supporting independent filmmaking from around the globe. It's the essential hub for discovering film talent and for catching the early buzz on many world and international premieres. To these goals, the festival organises its international co-production outfit CineMart and its Hubert Bals Fund gives financial support to film projects from developing countries.

The Festival is the leading film festival in Scandinavia. During eleven days we offer a film and seminar programme, our Nordic Film Market, two exciting international competitions ­ The Dragon Award and The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award ­ concerts, performances and parties.

transmediale 2012 is an in/compatible being. Incompatibility is the condition that arises when things are not working together. With transmediale 2012, we are investigating the productive and destructive sides of incompatibility as a fundamental condition for cultural production in times of crisis. In this context transmediale 2012 calls for a transversal approach. With our theme in/compatible we are acknowledging that there is equally the need for creative hacks and modifications, as there is a need for a refusal of the quick re-integration into business as usual. Das öffentliche Programm der Internationalen Filmfestspiele Berlin zeigt jedes Jahr ca. 400 Filme, überwiegend Welt- oder Europapremieren. Filme aller Genres, Längen und Formate finden in den verschiedenen Sektionen ihren Platz: großes internationales Kino im Wettbewerb, Independent und Arthouse im Panorama, Kino für ein junges Publikum in Generation, Neuentdeckungen und vielversprechende Talente aus der deutschen Filmlandschaft in der Perspektive Deutsches Kino, Avantgarde, Experiment und noch unbekannte Kinematografien im Forum sowie die Erkundung filmischer Möglichkeiten in den Berlinale Shorts. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch eine Retrospektive sowie eine Hommage, die das Lebenswerk einer großen Filmpersönlichkeit ehrt, kuratiert von der Deutschen Kinemathek- Museum für Film und Fernsehen.

CHANGING PERSPECTIVES Getting out of your reality tunnel: the ability to see things from multiple perspectives is an essential skill when it comes to approaching today’s vibrant issues. It requires imagination and transforms change into an opportunity to improve one's work. Emerging filmmakers will play an increasingly essential role in this film industry, where shifting paradigms strongly affect how films are presented and reach audiences. Changing perspectives is a process that requires active participation: sharing ideas and experiences, approaching filmmaking in a transdisciplinary way, getting inspired by visionary pioneers and being open to the unexpected along the way. The Berlinale Talent Campus brings emerging talent and seasoned film professionals together and offers them a platform to refresh their views, discover new horizons, find fellow filmmaking collaborators and discuss new trends and developments in contemporary cinema and media.

The !f Istanbul AFM International Independent Film Festival is founded in 2001 and every february it hosts some 70,000 film buffs and celebrated filmmakers from around the world. Dedicated to investigating directions cinema is taking, the festival is based around thematic sections, which change every year. In 2008, !f launched an international film competition - !f Inspired- designed to showcase emerging directors who are taking film in new directions. The competition carries a $15,000 prize for the Most Inspired Director.

183 films were received to the 30th Fajr International Film Festival secretariat for competing and screening at the Iranian Cinema Competition. Directors and producers of 90 Iranian fictions and 93 Iranian documentaries have filled the registration form for the 30th Fajr International Film Festival. The selection committee will watch the movies from 1st to 10th January 2012 and will announce the official selection list for Iranian Cinema Competition in this year festival soon after.
