  Berliner Regisseur ist mit seinem Kurzfilm "Spielzeugland" für einen Oscar nominiert
   
 
 
Der Film "Spielzeugland" des Berliner Regisseurs Jochen Alexander Freydank ist in der Kategorie Best live action short film für einen Oscar nominiert worden. ‚Spielzeugland‘ ist ein Film über Schuld, Verantwortung, kleine und große Lügen, der im Nazi-Deutschland der frühen 40er Jahre spielt. In nur 14 Minuten gelingt es Freydank, eine beeindruckende und berührende Geschichte perfekt zu inszenieren. Eine Leistung, die bereits Juroren zahlreicher Festivals im In- und Ausland zu honorieren wussten.
Die Entstehungsgeschichte dieses 14minütigen Filmes ist lang. Jochen Alexander Freydank benötigte zwei Jahre, bevor die Finanzierung für ‚Spielzeugland‘ stand. Der Film wurde vom Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg und der FFA gefördert und mit kleinem Budget an nur fünf Drehtagen an Originalschauplätzen in und um Berlin realisiert.

Nominiert in der Kategorie Best foreign language film of the year ist auch der Film über die RAF von Regisseur Uli Edel.   Die direkten Oscar-Konkurrenten für "Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex" sind die Filme   "Revanche" (Regie: Götz Spielmann), "Entre les murs" (Regie: Laurent Cantet, Frankreich), "Departures – Okuribito" (Regie: Yojiro Takita, Japan) und "Waltz With Bashir" (Regie: Ari Folman, Israel).

"Der seltsame Fall des Benjamin Button" mit Brad Pitt ist der diesjährige Favorit. Der Film ist in 13 Kategorien nominiert. Das in Großbritannien produzierte Indien-Drama "Slumdog Millonaire", kommt auf zehn Oscarsnominierungen.

Genau ein Jahr nach seinem Tod erhielt Heath Ledger posthum eine Ehrung. Die Preisrichter schlugen ihn für seine Nebenrolle als Joker in dem Batman-Abenteuer «The Dark Knight» vor.
Die Oscars werden in insgesamt 24 Kategorien verliehen. Für jede Kategorie gibt es fünf Nominierungen. Die Preise werden am 22. Februar in Hollywood vergeben.
